Developing a Home Practice
A personal practice is the foundation to living your yoga. When you do asanas, pranayama, and meditation daily, it shows in how you carry yourself, how you interact with other people, it helps you become centered and clear in body and mind. Whether you practice for 10 minutes or two hours, the personal time you take for yoga is essential for learning how to move at your own pace, listen and respond to your body, and cultivating tapas or discipline. Since all of that freedom can be overwhelming at first we will break down the basic building blocks that will allow you to start putting together a home practice that will meet your needs on any given day.
This all levels workshop will be taught in a vinyasa style focused on tapping into a basic understanding of the different postural categories of poses and the energetic effects they have on your body. You’ll leave with a short and sweet practice to do everyday, an energizing opening practice and a calming closing practice, which can be practiced independently or together for a complete well-rounded sequence. Please bring a paper and pen to jot down your own unique sequences.
